On February 28, Hainan Mining announced that the battery-grade lithium hydroxide project (Phase I) has completed all civil engineering works, equipment installation for the metallurgical and hydrometallurgical sections, and main structural installation of all buildings. Recently, the project achieved a successful trial run in the metallurgical section, marking a critical step toward formal production and product delivery.

Located in the Yangpu New Materials Industrial Park in Hainan, the project is invested in, constructed, and operated by Hainan Xingzhihai New Materials Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hainan Mining. With a total investment of RMB 1.056 billion, the project is designed to build an annual production line of 20,000 tons of battery-grade lithium hydroxide, supplying core raw materials for the downstream new energy industry.

During the trial run, the metallurgical section's material-involved debugging was precisely controlled, with smooth coordination across all processes—from raw material feeding to high-temperature calcination. The rotary kiln operated stably under high temperatures, ensuring the trial run's complete success.

This milestone achievement lays a solid foundation for subsequent joint debugging of the hydrometallurgical section and injects key momentum toward full production line integration.

Moving forward, the project team will focus on stabilizing production in the metallurgical section and achieving seamless process linkage with the hydrometallurgical section. The project is expected to commence formal production and deliver qualified products by April this year.
