Philanthropy

While realizing steady development, Hainan Mining adheres to the core value of “strive to create value and share development achievements”, cares for its employees, returns to shareholders and contributes to society. From its establishment in 2007 to the end of 2024, Hainan Mining has paid more than 7 billion CNY in taxes and fees, and made public welfare donations of nearly 40 million CNY.

Rural Revitalization Program

Hainan Mining has actively pursued poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. Since 2014, we have supported Xingshi Village in Tunchang County through stationed cadres, infrastructure funding, and specialty industry development. By 2018, 77 households (319 people) had been lifted out of poverty. Post-eradication, we continue supporting the village through industrial development, consumer programs, education assistance, vulnerable group aid, employment support, and living environment improvements, remaining committed to sustaining poverty alleviation achievements and advancing rural revitalization.

Rural Doctor Program

Since the launch of Fosun Foundation's rural doctor program in 2017, Hainan Mining has continued to provide assistance to rural doctors in the program counties in Hainan. In 2024, together with Fosun Foundation and Fosun Tourism Group, Hainan Mining initiated Hainan rural doctor program with new “Five Ones” strategy: one county, one policy, and jointly undertook the program expenses and operation work to provide comprehensive and three-dimensional assistance to rural doctors in Hainan and promote the transformation and upgrading of the rural doctor program.

Good Community Project in Bougouni, Mali

Following Hainan Mining's acquisition of the Bougouni Lithium Mine assets in Mali, Africa, in 2023, the company and its partners launched the “Bougouni Good Community Project” to foster positive and harmonious relationships with local communities while contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The project has implemented multiple public welfare actions, including: Reopening a rural school, providing 60 children with access to education; Constructing a water storage dam to address villagers’ drinking water challenges; Donating tractors to improve agricultural productivity and boost local incomes; Providing anti-malaria medication for children to reduce malaria prevalence and so on.

Reach Out Program in Sarawak, Malaysia

Through its “Reach Out Program”, Hainan Mining’s wholly-owned subsidiary, ROC Oil, provides targeted support to local communities in Sarawak, Malaysia, with a focus on educational empowerment. The project has implemented multiple actions, including: Donating educational supplies to two primary schools and a daycare center for disabled youth in Miri, Sarawak; Hosting an office furniture charity auction and organizing employee donation activities, with proceeds and goods benefiting orphanages and refugee learning centers; Sponsoring a community iftar dinner, inviting children from orphanages and religious schools to celebrate the festive season together.

Hainan Mining Youth Volunteer Team

Established in May 2022, the Hainan Mining youth volunteer team currently has 189 registered volunteers. In 2024, the team organized 25 community service initiatives with over 2,000 employee volunteer engagements, accumulating more than 6,000 service hours. The volunteer team has actively conducted various activities including: household surveys,traffic guidance campaigns,community clean-up programs,anti-drug and anti-fraud awareness initiatives and so on. These efforts have significantly improved community environmental conditions and traffic safety.
